About this Event
Join us for this dialogue session exploring the journey of parenting in a world marked by rapid social and digital transformations. Beginning with the concept of parenthood and the process of preparing for it, the session moves through the different stages of raising children, and the challenges facing families in our time. It places particular emphasis on the role of women and mothers in this process, highlighting the preparation for motherhood and family life and the importance of a mother’s presence in her children’s lives, especially given the growing responsibilities and challenges that accompany this role today.
The session will also explore past and present approaches to parenting, the impact of the digital world, including social media and videogames, and the role of the family amid the diversity of institutions and sources of influence in children’s lives. Other topics covered include how to prepare children for life, strengthen their ability to take responsibility and make decisions, and instill the values of hard work, saving money, and responsible consumption—reinforcing the family’s role in raising conscious generations capable of confronting life’s changes.
Session Objectives:
1. Raise awareness of the concept of parenthood and preparation for motherhood, recognizing parenting as a journey that begins with family formation and continues through the different stages of children’s development.
2. Highlight the pivotal role of mothers in raising children and the changes and challenges this role faces within the contemporary family.
3. Explore the differences between parenting in the past and today, while drawing on the experiences of previous generations in ways that are relevant to the needs of families and the realities of the modern age.
4. Discuss the key contemporary and digital challenges facing mothers and families, and ways of addressing them that foster dialogue and trust while preserving the family’s fundamental role in parenting.
5. Promote parenting practices that help prepare children for life by developing responsibility and independence and instilling values of hard work, saving money, and mindful consumption.
