Research Opportunities

Research grants

Every year, the Jadal Institute provides grants totalling up to $200,000 USD to researchers working in areas and topics that serve our current research theme. The grants are available in three tracks to cater to researchers working in different capacities and stages of research: group grants, fellow grants, and applied research grants.

Applications to the grants are currently closed.

Visit our Funded Projects page to get a sense of what current grant recipients are working on. Follow us on Instagram for updates and announcements about upcoming application cycles.

Grant tracks

Applications to research grants are divided into three tracks to support different ways of approaching and engaging our research theme.

Group grants

Group grants support three or more researchers working towards a shared thesis and coordinated outputs.

Fellow grants

Fellow grants support resident and non-resident scholars pursuing research, writing, or lecturing on topics aligned with our research theme.

Applied research grants

Applied research grants support programs that translate our research theme into trainings, workshops, and other practical applications.

Funded projects

This year, 27 research projects have received funding through our research grants to explore a range of topics and questions in the context of our research theme.
